Im sorry to say that I have nothing to show today. I have cleaned this house, washed clothes and stuff like that. I have got to hit my bedroom, it looks like a cyclone hit in there. I am still rollin' the cabinet thing around in my head. I want to paint it, just need to decide what color. If I could get goin on that it would keep me busy for a few days. I need to paint the inside and out. Its in my hallway that has this wallpaper with yellow and green in it. Very 1970's, but I like it. I will post a picture so y'all can see what Im talkin' about.
Here is the outside with the wallpaper:
Here is the inside. I keep all my office supplies in this, sooo excuse my mess.
So do Y'all have any suggestions for me as far as color??? Im open to anything.

I got some New Goodies
My Daddy went up to see our cousin who lives in Madison Va. She has been taking painting classes, sewing, and just all kinds of crafts. I talk to her on a regular basis, but I had no idea I was gonna get goodies this time. She painted this bowl and I just loooove it. I will have to find somewhere to display it so everybody can see it. Didnt she do a good job. Way to go Cheryl, I just love it..
Not only did she paint the bowl, she also painted this little bucket. It has my favorite things on it. Saltbox houses and stars. I so wish I could paint. But I will have to be happy with being able to sew for now. Maybe I can pick that up sometime later on. But I just love this little bucket. Thank You Cheryl.. I love this one too..

Busy as Bee
Yep that's me this morning. Just popping in to post a few things. I have been cleaning since I got up this morning. I have that Tupperware Party tonight, and I need to get things spic and span. I am juuusst about done. Just a few things left to do. I have decided not to mop the kitchen floor until last. If I do it now, it will not be as clean by this evening. Y'all know how children are.
I have baked a pineapple upside down cake. Got that out of the way. For our snacks this evening I am having those little b-b-q cocktail weiners, a veggie tray and pineapple cake... Yumm, Yummm... Dont this just make your mouth water? My son Josh said he just to drool all over that cake so he could have it all to himself. He is sooo silly. Wesley is dying for some too. I think I might make them wait until the party.. So here's my cake.. Try not to drool too much. I know I am. ;)

My find this weekend
I have looked and looked everywhere for one of those wire cover thingys that you can put over baked goods. I call them piekeeps, but Im not sure what the exact name for them are. Well, little did I know that I had one here at the house.
I got this sifter/strainer thing from Dh's Grandma when they cleaned out her house. It has been hanging in my kitchen for a little over a year now. I had it hanging on the wall and it was always in the way. When we would open the cabinets it would fall off, and it was really nerve racking.
So while sitting at the bar the other day, I looked over and thought, Ding-- light bulb. Tammy? Why don't you try to get the wire base off that thing and use it for a piekeep. Well, that's exactly what I did. Now it serves as a piekeep on my diningroom table and we wont have to worry about knockin' it off the wall anymore.
So, I took a screwdriver and prized the wire base off and now.. Well, whatcha think? Does it serve it's purpose?

Got some organizing done...
I tell ya. I have more stuff than I know what to do with. It seems that I am a messy crafter. LOL, is there any other way to be? How can you not make a mess? I have a bedroom upstairs that I was gonna use as my craft room, but I felt so isolated up there. I brought everything downstairs to the diningroom. I just cant believe how messy it stays. I had even started running over into the kitchen.
I am having a Tupperware party on Tuesday, so I thought I had better start and clean now, so I wont have it all to do on Tuesday. Boy at the stuff I had out. I could not even see the tables. Well, while trying to get everything in the little closet that I have in there. Dh asks me if I had shelves in there would it help me out any. Whenever Dh volunteers to do anything I jump on it.. Yes, yes, shelves would be wonderful. So he got busy making and putting them in for me. I like it sooo much better.
I still have lots of farbric upstairs, but I think I will leave it there. I dont want to overload the closet, and the way I see it is, if I havent used it Im not gonna use it. So right now it will stay where it is. Everything I use is down here right now, so it's not hurting anything.
I got most everything in there. I have a few things that need to be taken up stairs. Items I have made and need to be put away. Thats no big deal. I sooo wish I had a craft room though. It would make it sooo much easier on me.
I put everything in plastic bags. Mostly scrap fabric to use later. Guess I need to get busy making something huh? Oh and I need to get my hiney in there and dust off those closet doors too? Guess I have some things to get busy with. So I had better get goin'. Y'all have a great day. Until next time.

Miracles for Mallory
Some of you know my friend Shannon of The Olde Colonial Peddler. She just lost her sweet baby niece to Trisomy 18. What a sweet and strong baby Mallory was. Shannon has set up a blog that will give you information on this disease. She will be holding an auction to help raise money that will go towrad promoting awareness. The auction is called Miracles for Mallory Fund and it will work with Washington Regional Medical Center Foundation in Fayetteville Arkansas. You can learn more about this disease and the families story by clicking the banner. I know times are hard right now for everyone, but know that all the money rasied will be going to help promote awareness for this disease.

Show and Tell Thursday
I have this cameo set that my Papa gave me many years ago. I dont know anything about them. I have searched the net and searched books and anitque stores, but I have yet to find any information on them. This is not a very good picture, and they look like they need to be cleaned. Im afraid to clean'em. I dont wanna mess them up.
When I was about 16-17 many years ago, I use to love cameos. I have a few, but this set is my favorite. I use to wear them, but as I go older I decided that I should put them away for safe keepin'.
If anyone has any information or knows anything about cameos please feel free to share it with me. There is a lady that owns an antique store in town near here that said I could bring them in for her to look at, but I have not had the chance to get back by there. I hope someone somewhere someday will have some information on them.
So, thats my Show and Tell for this week.

Whatcha Workin on Wednesday
Well, this has been one more busy and rushed week for me. Not only have I been working part time, but we have also had Vacation Bible School this week. I am one more tired puppy. I just feel so rushed. I have finished some crafts this week. I got a request from Carm for some cute little Ginger Guys and I also managed to complete a little surprise to go along with her order. I have done nothing to this house this week. I just have not had time. I feel like Im being pulled in 10 different directions. Things will get back to normal after tomorrow night though, that is last night for Bible School. I love doing Bible School, it just makes it hard to get things done.
Here are the little Ginger Guys I finished for Carm. I sooo hope she likes them. This pattern was sooo easy to do. The pattern is from Crows Roost Prims. She has some wonder things at her site. I love to browse her site. If you have time stop by there and see what she has.
I have been working on getting my information all together so I can work. I have been volunteering my time since June, and that stinks, Im ready for a payday. I have to go this morning and get my TB skin test read. Of course it is negative, but I have to go back for them to read. Then hopefully I will get a payday at the end of August. I sooooo cant wait. Then I will head into work, I sooo need to stay home today to get some washing and cleaning done. Seeing as how Im only a substitute and they only have on average 13 children, I think it will be ok.
So thats what Im working on today... Not much of anything.. How 'bout you, whatcha workin' on??

More of my T2T.
Ok, so some of you may know that a couple of weeks ago I went to an Estate Sale and got some great things. Well, I got this wooden shelf for like 2 bucks and at the time I was rolling ideas around in my head.
So today was pretty laid back for me. At least I let be anyway. I thought I would take that shelf and prim it up. Here is what I did:
I first sanded it down as best I could, then painted it black. Almost dry brushing it. I only put one coat of paint. I didnt use any special paint just black acrylic craft paint. I put a thin coat on there, let it dry and then took the sander and sanded it down. Here is what it looked like before.
Now here is what it looks like after.
I think it turned out to be good. I am gonna hang it in the bathroom. I have a shelf in there that I want to put in the livingroom, so I had to find something to take it's place.
I also have this little tray that I found at Goodwill. I got it for a bargain too. Cant be a good deal. So I did the same thing to it, only after the black paint dried, I went over it lightly with barn red. I dont think you can tell there is even any red on it, but it's ok. I think this turned out OK. Good thing about it is.. I can always sand and start all over.
Here it is before:
Now here is what it looks like after:
It's really very funny to me. I have never been one for T2T things. Now that I have gotten a taste of it, I want to paint everything. I have a shelf in my diningroom that I want to paint. Just not sure what color yet. And I also have a chimney cabinet that I want to paint as well. Haven't decided on the right color for that yet either.. I will have to get some pics and get some suggestions from y'all. How would that be? Well thats it for my T2T for right now. Thanks for stopping by..

Show and Tell Thursday...
Well I havent been anywhere this week to find any treasures. So I took a little walk around my house to see if I could find something to show. I have several things planted around my house. I try to keep with the older plants and shrubs that might have been planted years ago.
I got a Hydrangea years ago when I worked at a museum. It started out kinda small and didnt do much at first. Not to mention the times it was mowed over by Dh. Anyway, I looked at it this evening and it is taking some what of beating from all the heat that we have been having, but other than that it seems to be doing quite well this year.
So here is my Hydrangea bush for this summer...

Whatcha Workin on Wednesday...
Today is Wednesday right??? LOL. Middle of the week. WhooHoo. I only have one more day to work this week.
Ok so am I workin' on? Well, I have my friend Angie who is having a birthday on the 29th of this month. So I have been busy working on her birthday present. I guess that tells ya I cant tell huh? I hope she will like it..
Of course Josh's room is a total mess. I still have not decided on the floor yet. I am lookin around trying to figure out what kind of carpet to put down. I want something that will be easy to take care of, but tough enough to stand up against the messes of boys. I just dont know. So right now Im lookin at prices and types of carpet. The bad thing is it will have to be a light color due to the color we painted the room. I dont want it to end up lookin like a dungeon. So for now that project is undone. I hate that too, cause it's like once you stop you cant get goin again.
Still workin on my ornie swap. I have made them up, just got to add a few finishing touches to them. I dont know what that will be, but Im thinking about it.
Then all the other stuff that needs to be done around the house. Cookin, cleanin, washin all that stuff. That is a never ending story.
I hope you all have had a wonderful Wednesday and that your projects havent over taken you like mine have. To many irons in the fire. Well, hope you all have a wonderful evening. Until next time.

Trying to be Good this Week...
(I posted this on my other blog, thought I would share here. Just in case you didnt read my other blog)
As far as what Im eating. I dont know if Im in the right frame of mind or not, but I dont think this was a good week to start watching what I eat. Today at work one of my Mama's friends visited her at work and what did she bring? Nothing but Chocolate Brownies... Oh my gosh they were soooo good. Then this evening Nannie stopped by. She said that Jay (dh) had prunned her trees and she wanted to pay him. Well what did she pay him with you might ask. Nothing but a Chocolate Pie... My Nannie makes the Best Chocolate Pies... Now I know I didnt have to eat either of the two. But being the Weak Soul that I am, I just had too.. And who wouldnt... They were both Delicious... So here is what has starring at me alllll evening.. Could you resist??

T2T Breadbox
Ok I got it allll done... I used the techinque that Leslie used on her cabinets. I first sanded, painted the whole thing antique white, added the stars in barn red, then went over the whole thing with a gel stain. I think it turned out pretty good.

So I hit the Goodwill. I have been lookin' for-ever for breadbox to prim up. I got to lookin' around and what did I find, but a breadbox. I found a few other things too. Whatcha Workin on Wednesday..
Boy do the weeks seem to roll by fast..LOL.. Well, Josh's room is still a total mess. We have not decided what to do with the floor. I think I might try looking around some of the local carpet stores to see what kind of prices I can get on reminants. I have never done that before so any info y'all can give will be great. Should I measure the room, how do I ask, what do I ask for things like that. Hope anyone can help.
I am also working on some ornies for a swap that Im in on the CYO Forum. Just a few little details to go, and I will have those finished. Sorry I cant show a picture. I wouldnt want anyone to see what I'm making.. CYO is also having a Christmas in July Craftshow. Y'all should pop in and see if you can find something there. All you have to do is click the link to the right. So Im busy with that too.
So now you know what Im working on. What are you working on???
Until next time.. Happy Crafting.

Monday Morning Blues
Well its the beginning of a new work week. I tell ya after being off for a week it sure was hard for me to get up this morning and get going. I sure did enjoy my vacation time though. My projects are still ongoing.. I sure do hate to wait on things to get done. Seems thats how all of our projects end up.
I havent been doing much for crafting. I have been sooo lazy. I dont know what its gonna take to get me goin to gettin some new things done. Do you have times like that too? I just dont feel much like making anything. I buy pattern after pattern, and still nothing gets made. I need a good swift kick is what I need.

WhooHoo, the weekend is finally here...
Well I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday.
I have the weekend to myself. Jay took the boys to the lake with his family. I stayed home for some needed quiet time for me. I hope to get goin on some sewing. I have so much to do with so little time. They will be back home before I know it.
I went this morning with mama and daddy to the Farmer's Market. There wasnt much there. Guess you have to get there early to get the good stuff. I did find a nice little Antique Mall in downtown, that I had No idea was there. I dont spend much time in downtown b/c I dont know my way around. I plan to head back when I get some time.
I hope I dont go out of my mind with all the silence that I have around the house. I know that it is good for me to have time alone, I dont get much of that, but it is so deaffing quiet. I need to get in there and get some things going. I hope y'all have a great weekend. I hope to show what y'all what I get done today. If I get anything done...LOL..
Have a Great Weekend.. Hugs..

Without them I would not be able to live so freely.. God bless this nation and all the men and women out there fighting for our freedom..
I hope everyone has a great holiday.

New Doll I made
Well, I had said that I was not focused on crafts this week. But I did manage to get 2 dolls done. I just love how they turned out. I got the pattern from Drakestone Primitive Country Cabin. I just love, love, love her patterns. So, during the time I was not painting and carring out carpet I got these lovely ladies finished.
In Angi's pattern, it calls for the battery operated tealights. I dont know if I will add them to the dolls or not. I think I like them just the way they are. They turned out so perfectly primitive..

Ok, so it's Wednesday Again,,,,
Where has the week gone?
Well it seems that my work is not focused on crafting this week. My son Josh and I decided to remodel his bedroom. There was old and I mean old, 1970's blue shag carpet in his bedroom. So we ripped that out down to the hardwood floors. We have been painting up a storm. It seems that it will never end.
I remember as a child that room being blue with that old blue shag carpet. I think it was past time to give the room a makeover.
I do not know what we will do with the floors. When they remodeled for my Aunt and Uncle they didnt care what got on the floor. There is paint and plaster. So I know it is gonna have to be sanded. So if we are gonna sand, then we might as well leave the floor wood and just stain and varnish rather than paint it and put a topcoat on it. I think that is what we will do.
So all the carpet is out, paint is just about done, just a small area that needs to be painted. I think part of the builtins we will take out. As Josh doesnt use them. So many decisions to be made..
Josh's room is a total wreck. I hope to have it all back together by the end of the week. I HOPE!!!
