Generous Folks and Talented Crafter Blog

I just wanted to let y'all know that I have changed my Generous Folks and Talented Crafter blog. After much thought I decided to make it a directory for all my fellow artists. I am offering free "advertising" there. I know that things are tight right now and the economy is not good, so it's free if you are interested. Just send me an email with your banner and url. That's it!

The new name is Spotlight Artist and Business Directory. I hope you will stop by and have a look, even more I hope you will have your banner and business listed.

Thank you, hope you all have a great day.

Tammy,
Actually I don't like that burnt look! LOL It really wasn't completely dry at that point, so it isn't quite as dark now. Anyway, how do you make up your stain? I use instant coffee and an old Foldgers plastic container. I mix it up and use it and then stash it in the fridge. I think I got the dark stuff because I had been using it a lot and didn't mix up the batch as I was staining yesterday. That and the scummy dark stuff off of the bottom probably got on that spot. I think that's how you get that look really. See if that works. If not, I have no clue what I did! LOL

Maybe that's it? It came out darker than I wanted. It was dried partially in the oven and I stuck it under the faucet and wrung it out, trying to lighten it a little. Because it was so wet, it had to be in the oven for quite a while. I may have burnt it a little. I also turned it upside down to help dry the back, so it may have stuck to the foil? Try that, too! Something is bound to work. Of course I can't tell you how many times I read about the easy, fool-proof way to crackle paint and let me tell you I have never accomplished it when I actually wanted to! LOL
