More of my T2T.

Ok, so some of you may know that a couple of weeks ago I went to an Estate Sale and got some great things. Well, I got this wooden shelf for like 2 bucks and at the time I was rolling ideas around in my head.

So today was pretty laid back for me. At least I let be anyway. I thought I would take that shelf and prim it up. Here is what I did:

I first sanded it down as best I could, then painted it black. Almost dry brushing it. I only put one coat of paint. I didnt use any special paint just black acrylic craft paint. I put a thin coat on there, let it dry and then took the sander and sanded it down. Here is what it looked like before.

Now here is what it looks like after.

I think it turned out to be good. I am gonna hang it in the bathroom. I have a shelf in there that I want to put in the livingroom, so I had to find something to take it's place.

I also have this little tray that I found at Goodwill. I got it for a bargain too. Cant be a good deal. So I did the same thing to it, only after the black paint dried, I went over it lightly with barn red. I dont think you can tell there is even any red on it, but it's ok. I think this turned out OK. Good thing about it is.. I can always sand and start all over.

Here it is before:

Now here is what it looks like after:

It's really very funny to me. I have never been one for T2T things. Now that I have gotten a taste of it, I want to paint everything. I have a shelf in my diningroom that I want to paint. Just not sure what color yet. And I also have a chimney cabinet that I want to paint as well. Haven't decided on the right color for that yet either.. I will have to get some pics and get some suggestions from y'all. How would that be? Well thats it for my T2T for right now. Thanks for stopping by..

Jo-Anne, I love to paint items black too. I just can't help it. To me it looks more primitive, I need to venture out into other colors. Thanks for the comment

Kim, you find great things when go out. I wish I could. I cant wait to see what you have done.

Wonderful makeovers!!!!

T2T is my fav, as you know. You feel so good when you buy or find something and make something so nice from it! I think it becomes quite addicting. You find yourself looking at everything you own in a new light! :)

Have a great rest of the weekend!
